Hello beautiful! My name is Lexis, I’m an associate buyer for the bridesmaid division at David’s Bridal. As a newly engaged woman and expert on bridesmaids, I knew I wanted to do something special for all my leading ladies. Bridesmaid proposal boxes are huge trend we’ve been seeing all over social media and in today’s Friday Favs, I’ll be sharing everything you’ll need to know about bridesmaid proposal boxes and how to create your own!
What is a bridesmaid proposal box, you might ask? It’s a personalized box of curated items that the bride gifts to her friends when asking them be in her bridal party. This is a great way to make your bridesmaids feel special and show your appreciation. Some must-haves for a bridesmaid proposal box include a mix of personalized gifts and items for the big day like getting ready robes or makeup bags.
Ready to build your own, but not sure where to start? I’ve got you covered! As a bride-to-be myself I’ve put together my own bridesmaid proposal boxes to show you what I’ll be gifting to my besties and inspire you as you’re thinking about creating your own. Keep reading to see what’s inside!
Step 1: Select a box (or bag)
The first step in creating the perfect bridesmaid proposal box is finding a container for all the goodies. Boxes are a popular choice but a tote bag works too. I’ll be gifting each of my besties one of these personalized floral boxes with their name printed on top. I love this set because it makes it easy to set up your base for your proposal box. The set includes a pinewood box, a stemless champagne flute, and a vegan leather card case! To give your gifts & goodies a little cushion in the box and have a fun decorative element, this paper shred box filler is perfect!
Step 2: Select gifts & goodies
The next step is to fill it with fun gifts for your BFFs! These goodies can be anything you want to include from beauty items to sweet treats. Keep all your boxes uniformed with the same gifts or customize each box with unique items for each maid.
I know my girls will love this coconut scented lip gloss and Thai Lily rollerball perfume! Both gifts are small enough that my bridesmaids will have no trouble throwing these sweet-smelling essentials into their clutch on the big day!
I know I’m not the only one who loves a good spa day! After I give out my proposal boxes to my maids, I’m planning on having an at-home spa night for everyone! With that in mind, I’ve added a few self-care products in their boxes for us to use. For my maids, those must-haves include brightening sheet masks with quartz rollers, hydrating lip patches, cuticle oil for manicures, and super cute hair ties to wear! Plus, I couldn’t forget to include a silky robe for each of them to wear at our spa night! I want my maids to wear these while getting ready for the wedding, so I’m gifting them robes in the color Desert Coral, which ties back perfectly to my wedding color palette!
Step 3: Add personalized touches
Lastly, you can’t forget about little details and personalized touches that make your bridesmaid proposal boxes extra special. In addition to gifting my friends their boxes, I’ll also be giving each of them a mini bottle of champagne with this adorable pink tag that reads “Be My Bridesmaid?” — perfect for popping the question. I’m also adding a picture frame inside capturing one of our best moments together. This is something I know my girls will love and cherish forever!
